Veterinary Resident

The Department of Veterinary Pathobiology at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences is now accepting applications for several Veterinary Resident positions in its residency training programs beginning July 1, 2019. These 3-year positions fulfill eligibility requirements for diplomate examination certification, and training can include research, diagnostic service, seminars, graduate courses, and instruction. Candidates are required to have a DVM/VMD or equivalent degree.

Candidates are required to submit the following: 1) a one-page essay characterizing a) origin and nature of your interest and b) previous experience; 2) a CV including all publications, honors and awards; 3) three letters of recommendation, submitted directly from the reference; and 4) official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional educational institutions attended (please use institution code 6003) as one document with additional pages scanned along with the CV.

Veterinary Residents can take graduate coursework during the residency and are strongly encouraged to complete requirements for the PhD degree following the residency.

The Bryan-College Station area offers a diverse college-town atmosphere, relatively low cost of living, and convenient access to the large urban centers of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Starting salary for these positions start at $35,000/yr, with some tuition coverage, medical/retirement benefits and travel support to regional and national meetings. Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree. Preferences will be given to candidates from AVMA-accredited institutions or those qualifying for Texas licensure.
