SMALL ANIMAL MEDICINE TECHNICIANS
Within the College of Veterinary Medicine
veterinary technicians are crossed-trained to work in many areas of veterinary
medicine. The veterinary technicians must be knowledgeable in anesthesia,
radiology, critical care, internal medicine and surgery. However, most of the
time they are assigned to specific services and specialize in that particular
area of veterinary medicine. The service departments for the small
animal medicine area include;

Cardiology -
Kathy Glaze is the cardiology technician. Kathy is also
the supervisor of the medicine technicians. She is a registered veterinary
technician and has been a technician at Texas A&M University since 1991.
Kathy's areas of expertise include Cardiology, pacemakers, ECG interpretation,
and PDA's.
- Internal
Medicine - Sherry Morgan is the
internal medicine technician. Sherry has been a technician at Texas A&M
University for over 20 years. Sherry's areas of expertise are internal
medicine, venepuncture and
cystocentesis.

Oncology -
The oncology service has two
veterinary technicians. Diane Green & Kim Pavelock. Diane Green
has been with the CVM for over 7 years. Diane is a registered veterinary
technician. Diane's areas of expertise are in oncology, venepuncture, and also
in Emergency Critical Care. Kim Pavelock, is the second oncology technician
and she is also a registered veterinary technician. Kim has been with the CVM
for over 16 years. Kim was a surgery technician prior to joining the oncology
service in May of 2000. Kim specializes is oncology, bandaging, wound
management and computer programming.

Feline Internal Medicine -
Liz Kelley is the
Feline Medicine technician. She is a registered veterinary technician. Liz was
the community practice technician prior to joining the Feline Medicine
service. She has been with the CVM for over 2 years. She specializes in
feline medicine, dentistry, restraint, and venepuncture.

Community Practice -
Patty Hug is the Community Practice Technician.
Patty is a registered veterinary technician. She specializes in wellness care, dentistry,
restraint, venepuncture and behavior.

Dermatology -
Laurie Barnett is the dermatology technician. Laurie
specializes in dermatology but she also has experience in the LA clinic.
