Lecturers in Small Animal Surgery

The Department of Veterinary Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University invites applications for two (2) one-year, temporary positions for lecturers in small animal surgery. One position will begin as soon as possible, the other after July 15, 2008. Applicants should have a DVM or an equivalent degree and should have completed an ACVS accredited surgical residency. Applicants must be eligible for regular or special licensure in the State of Texas.

The applicant will be allowed 3 months (excluding holidays) for preparation for ACVS boards and have the opportunity to participate in resident practice examinations. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory and clinical training of professional students, interns and residents. Clinical responsibilities will include the service activities of the Small Animal Surgery Service, Including rotating participation in soft tissue, orthopedic, neurosurgery and general surgery, with an emphasis on soft tissue surgery. The successful candidate will join a team of approximately 45 faculty members and 20 interns and residents in the Department of Veterinary Small Animal Clinical Sciences, in addition to numerous others in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
