Clinical Trials

“We are currently enrolling dogs >20 pounds with MRI-diagnosed single site cervical (neck) disk herniation into a randomized study looking at the role of a protein in stopping or reversing disk degeneration.  Dogs may receive the experimental protein as an intradiscal injection or placebo.  Two return visits with re-check MRI will be needed.  If you are interested in this study, please contact the small animal clinic and ask to speak with the neurology technician or Dr. Jon Levine regarding enrollment.”

“Dogs with seizures that have been diagnosed as resulting from idiopathic epilepsy may be eligible for a multi-institution study on a new anti-epileptic drug, pregabalin.  Dogs must have had MRI or CT plus CSF analysis prior to enrollment.  Only dogs already on at least one anti-epileptic drug (e.g. Phenobarbital, bromide) for at least 3 months that are not responding well may be entered.  For further information please contact the neurology technician or Dr. Jocelyn Cooper”
