Communit Practice Clinicians Dr. Bonnie Beaver(left) and Dr. M.A. Crist(right) with Ms. Patty Hug(center)The Community Practice Service provides medical care for pets within a 70-mile radius of College Station.  Two veterinary clinicians, Dr. Bonnie Beaver and Dr. M.A. Crist, oversee the interns and students who rotate through the Service.  Ms. Patty Hug is the registered technician who keeps the Service running smoothly.

Emphasis for the Community Practice Service is on well-patient management.  Prevention of disease is an important part of veterinary medicine, and this Service provides that learning experience for all students.  By interacting with the public, students learn how to take medical histories, do good physical examinations, establish a rational approach to problems, perform various procedures, and provide clients with information about health care.  This is day to day medicine for any small animal veterinary practice.Dr. M.A. Crist Bandaging assisted by Ms. Patty Hug
