Animal Behavior Service
Within the Community Practice Service is another service that helps owners who have animals with behavior problems. Dr. Beaver heads the Animal Behavior Service, a place where veterinarians can refer their difficult cases. As one of only a few board certified veterinary behaviorists, Dr. Beaver deals with problems ranging from aggression to housesoiling to hyperkinesis. Once the appropriate diagnosis has been determined, owners learn about the underlying problem and approaches to help. These approaches include combinations of environmental management, behavior modification, and occasionally drug therapy.
