Equine Local Practice Clinician
The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University, invites applications for an in-house Equine Local Practice Clinician. The position is a full-time, clinical track appointment and could be filled at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree and meet requirements for licensure in the State of Texas. Certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), or another specialty board is preferred, however candidates that have completed qualifications for board eligibility or individuals with demonstrated experience and expertise in equine practice will be considered. Clinical interest and experience in equine ophthalmology is required.
The Equine Local Practice service at Texas A&M University is a separate clinical service and student rotation which is intended to provide routine health care to equine patients. This service also has a strong focus in equine ophthalmology. Collaboration with the local Field Service and other in-house clinical services is available and encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in further development of the Equine Local Practice Service and contribute in a collaborative and collegial manner to the teaching, research, and patient care missions of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
The successful candidate will be assigned clinical and teaching responsibilities in the Large Animal Medicine Section and assigned emergency rotations in the Large Animal Hospital.
