LARGE ANIMAL EMERGENCY TEAM |
|
Large Animal Emergency Team (LAET) focuses on the application of emergency and critical care medicine in the large animal fields. Participating SVECCS members are paired with fourth-year students on rotations in the Large Animal Clinic, observing and helping the students and technicians to receive emergencies and monitor critical and intensive care cases in the Equine and Food Animal wards. Students are assigned approximately two 5-hour night and/or weekend shifts per semester and will be paired with one other member for each shift. Shifts run from 7pm - 12 midnight Monday through Friday and from 1pm - 6pm and 7pm - 12am on Saturdays and Sundays. Participants are not scheduled within two (2) days of an exam. New this year! For each LAET shift you attend, your name will be entered in a prize drawing sponsored by VECCS at the end of the semester. Be sure go to your scheduled shifts and sign in to increase your chances of winning! Want to know more? Click here to view the spring semester schedule.
