The Opportunities in Equine Practice Seminar (OEPS) is an annual seminar for North American veterinary students designed to promote equine practice as a viable and rewarding career option. OEPS is organized, funded, and conducted by private equine veterinary practitioners with the support of equine veterinary industry sponsors and the American Association of Equine Pracitioners.
The seminar is held in Lexington, Kentucky and is exclusively for 3rd year vet students. The seminar is held over 3 days at the end of August/beginning of September. Registration is conducted through our local SCAAEP and Texas A&M usually has 20-30 students who attend. National AAEP provides funding for 15 of those TAMU vet students and our SCAAEP uses a point system to determine which students qualify for funding. For more information on earning points and registration, contact your 2nd year SCAAEP Representative.
