Summer Veterinary Student Research Fellows Program: Orientation to the Program
The Summer Research Program begins with an Orientation Workshop (Mon-Tue, May 17-18, 2010). The Workshop is divided into two morning sessions starting at 8:15am and ending with a lunch for all fellows, mentors and workshop instructors.

- Details about Field Trips, Journal Clubs, and other weekly meetings
- Preliminary Information about the Merck-Merial-NIH Veterinary Scholars Symposium
- Orientation to Research
- Laboratory Safety Training
- Ethical Use of Animals in Research
- Responsible Conduct of Research
- Reading Scientific Literature
The orientation workshop, consisting of two morning sessions, leaves the afternoon for students to become oriented to their laboratories.
