Service Hour Requirements:
In order to be an active member of the Pre-Vet Society, you are required to get 36 points per semester. These points can be attained through service hours, meetings, socials, and field trips. Service hours count as 2 points per hour, but no more than 20 points can be attained from service hours alone. Proof of participation with a sponsor's signature is required to be turned in at the end of the semester. Service hours do not necessarily need to pertain to veterinary medicine!
Check the membership page for an updated roster and current member status!

Brazos Animal Shelter
The animal shelter is a great way to help out in the community
while gaining hands-on animal experience. To volunteer,
you must attend an orientation session. These are held
on Mondays – Thursdays from 2-2:30pm or Fridays from 11-11:30am. For more
information, or to set up an orientation time, call
775-5755. You can check out their
website too!
Foster Care
The Brazos Animal Shelter has a program with Texas A&M vet school to provide 3rd year vet students spay/neuter surgeries. This means that the Shelter has many dogs that have NOT been spayed/neutered and need homes until they are scheduled for surgery and can find a home. Surgeries will begin Oct 12-Nov 9. Email Leiha Kochan at lkochan@brazosanimalshelter.org . You can also check out there website at http://www.brazosanimalshelter.org/
