October 26, 2005 - The first Southwest Regional National Science Foundation (NSF) GK-12 Conference held at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences attracted more than just 67 teachers, graduate students and directors of GK-12 programs from six states – its activities also caught the attention of young minds. Marta Kobiela, left, a graduate student in the Math department from the GK-12 program at Texas A&M, is shown with some youngsters and their parents who participated in the math and science hands-on activities open to the public at the two-day conference.
