Kimberly Greer, Ph.D. - Research Assistant Professor; Dept. of Pathobiology I received my B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M University. After completing molecular genetics research for the Department of Entomology in 1990, I joined the College of Veterinary Medicine to research the genetics of human disease through investigation of animal models (neural tube defects such as spina bifida and anencephaly). Following numerous projects targeted towards Genetics Toxicology, I joined the Canine Genetics Laboratory in 2002 for Postdoctoral training. Funded by an NIH fellowship, the National Research Service Award (NRSA), I completed my proposed investigation into the genetics of aging in 2005. From the genetics of aging work came multiple, independent projects targeted toward deciphering the mechanisms of aging and the Canine Aging and Neurological Disease Research Laboratory. Our current projects include investigations into the etiology of Pug Dog Encephalitis and establishing the dog as a model of aging .
