Dr. Donald Bruce Lawhorn Endowed Faculty Fellowship
in Swine Medicine

Distributions from this endowed fund are intended to support a faculty member that is a graduate veterinarian in a full-time or part-time clinical or tenure-track position. Distributions may be used to promote the teaching of current, research based swine medicine, surgery, management, nutrition, welfare, food safety and pork quality assurance, and biosecurity techniques to veterinary students/interns/residents and practitioners, veterinary technicians, researchers, swine producers, swine industry personnel, youth and their parents or guardians and consumers. All varieties of swine inclusive of those raised solely for pork for human consumption, show swine, pet pigs (potbellied pigs and other breeds), research pigs and feral swine are eligible to be utilized in endowment teaching efforts.
