Gentle Doctor Benefit Auction
The Fifth Annual Gentle Doctor Benefit and Auction (GDBA) will be held April 5, 2008 at Reed Arena on the Texas A&M University campus.
What began as a fundraising idea to raise scholarships for veterinary medical students, has evolved into an evening of fun, food, and fellowship for friends who love animals and the college. Nearly a half million dollars for DVM student scholarships has been raised over the previous four years. Funds from GDBA so far have benefited 16 students with a total disbursement of $40,000. The remaining monies are reserved to build a perpetual endowment of several million dollars that will benefit even more veterinary medical students in the future.
The evening features good food, music, and both silent and live auctions. The invitation-only event draws more than 800 people, and is the largest single fundraising event for the college. It is also the result of countless hours of support from students, faculty, and staff who generously give of their time and talents.
