Radiologist Lecturer

The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University, invites applications for an appointment at the rank of Lecturer (non-tenure accruing). This position is a full time position and would be assigned to the Radiology Section. The preferred candidate will have board certification in the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or be ACVR board eligible with completion of board certification as an expectation. Applicant must meet requirements for special (institutional) or regular licensure in Texas.

This is a non-tenure accruing appointment for a one year period extending from July 1, 2009- June 30 2010. Professional liability insurance is provided by the VMTH during the period of employment. University medical/dental benefits and retirement plans will be available. Vacation, sick leave and holidays are provided in accordance with Texas A&M University and Department Policy.

The radiology service at Texas A&M University is a separate clinical service and student rotation. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in further development of the radiology service and contribute in a collaborative and collegial manner to the teaching, research and patient care missions of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

The successful applicant will be assigned diagnostic imaging responsibilities by the Section Chief. Expertise in diagnostic imaging is a prerequisite. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic imaging services, supervision and consultation with clinical associates and students, and teaching. Applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills to ensure appropriate communication with clients, referring veterinarians, and in-hospital personnel.

This institute is collaboration between veterinary medical researchers, medical researchers and private companies that will use the latest in imaging and diagnostic equipment to provide Good Laboratory Practice studies to the drug and biomedical device industry. We are also in the process of building a new state of the art radiation therapy MRI and CT facility.
