4+1 Agreement Between Biomedical Science and the School of Rural Public Health

This agreement serves to facilitate the admission of students from the Biomedical Science program (BIMS) in the Texas A & M University College of Veterinary Medicine to the Masters of Public Health program at the School of Rural Public Health (SRPH) in the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center.  As students progress successfully toward the completion of the Bachelor of Science degree, this agreement will ensure the seamless transition of students into the MPH program according to the provisions and conditions below:

1.     Biomedical Science students accepted into this program will be admitted to the MPH program, provided:  they meet all other general admission requirements (i.e., transcripts, applications, time lines, deadline dates, etc.) for general admission to Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, and satisfactory letters of recommendation.

2.     Students must have maintained no less than a cumulative 3.50 GPA in the courses taken in the Biomedical Science Program in the College of Veterinary Medicine and through completion of their undergraduate degree.

3.     Students must not have made any grade below a "B" in all of their Biomedical Science Directed Electives including all SRPH courses.

4.     This agreement will be reviewed on an annual basis and may be amended by mutual written consent of both parties by issuing an addendum to this agreement.

5.     This agreement will commence effective the Fall semester of 2003 with commitment of a five (5) year period.
